Sitting here in another Winter Storm Warning waiting to see if we can get a little convective enhanced snowfall over the next 12-18 hours. I'll be happy with 8" as we really do need to cut into the snowfall deficit otherwise spring fire season will be busy again. Bah, it is still only March and this is still Minnesota. Did I mention Dave, Melanie and I chased a tor box in Minnesota on the 25th of March last year? Not gonna happen this year folks.
Anyhow, here are a couple of more signs of spring is coming to the northern plains I noticed this week.
The wood ducks are coming back. Next to the teal, this is the wimpiest duck on earth when it comes to cold. These things are LONG GONE with the first frost in the fall. Wonder why they always start coming back when there is still snow on the ground?
This is my favorite. The air ambulance out of Minneapolis. Yep, with spring comes the nasty crashes on I 94 where they are trying to get people to live long enough to fly to a real hospital in the metro. Can't wait for those first spring days with the Harleys hit the road and the riders hit the pavement around the lakes up here.
Talk about road rash. Here is a pic of an ambulance going to scrape up a rider a couple of years ago near my home.
...and the outcome. Not surprised huh? Anyhow, a holiday weekend is coming up so be careful for the Easter Bunny and the idiot drivers. You know they both really exist, right?
