At least it didn't snow and we should all be so lucky
Ha...actually had some thunder this evening which didn't include snow falling for a change. Maybe this time spring is really here. Storms were pure crap as the best lift and H25 jet support was running well behind the cold front. A few short segments with with extremely low bases (~500m AGL) at least made for something to watch.
Yesterday when I was making my rounds, I came across a roadside memorial for Donnie Frye who died October 28th 2008 at this exact spot northwest of Montrose, MN, just a little past his 18th birthday. Those of us who spend a lot of time going from point A to point B see a lot of these and after a while they kind of become routine.
What made me stop and take time to read the farewells from his friends was not so much to learn about the person who died, but more so about the people who lived. We should all be so fortunate to have friends as Mr. Frye did. I hope his soul found peace as well as those he left behind.
