Another snowy Saturday

Another weekend, another blizzard. Not chasing this one as just waaaaay too much to get some around here. The biggest project is restoring a photo of the kids' great-great grandmother's wedding. Need to have that one done by Monday.

Cailyn had her "Holiday" Program at school yesterday. BIG KUDOS to the schools out here for having the balls to let the kids sing "CHRISTMAS" songs!!!! You up tight a-holes who live behind your little shield of political correctness can F-OFF! This is the US and we celebrate Christmas. Don't like it? MOVE!

So after the program (Cullen was the video photog for the morning class BTW), I headed over to the post office to mail out the DVDs to everyone who wanted to trade. I walked in on a discussion between one of the postal employees and a customer on how sad is was the postal employees cannot say "Merry Christmas". There were saying "Merry Merry". Hey, David Williams! MOVE!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!! Remember the reason for the season.

I was unaware that Christmas had become a bad word, when I was in school it's all we talked about the month of December. I'm far more annoyed by the Pledge of Allegiance than I am Christmas in the schools.

I'm into the "good will towards men" aspect of Christmas, but I'm not at all religious so the "reason for the season" means nothing to me. But if the next guy wants to believe something different, more power to him. I'm an equal-opportunity believer/philosopher.

On the other side of the coin, I never see displays of Pagan, Buddist, or other religious events sprinkled all over retail stores throughout America, so I can't sympathize with the Christian Holiday out of religious principle; there are plenty of other religions being far more severely (and in some cases violently) oppressed in this country.

Regardless of religious views, the world needs more people to take on this attitude. Good point and well taken Shane.
