Tuesday's potential GONE. Mid May and back to wishcasting?

Photobucket

It's official. With the passing of Mother's Day weekend this will be the worst start to a chase season I have had since 1988. I was holding out some hope for the eastern Dakotas on Tuesday (it would have not violated my "don't chase junk rule" since technically it would be bringing me closer to home) but the models are showing a moisture starved, no instability cold front passing through again. Time to turn the sights to next Friday or Saturday as yet another cold front comes crashing through but this one *might* have some good (not decent) moisture to work with. With the weak ridging in the southern and central plains this week, it should allow some real gulf moisture to work it's way into the upper Mississippi Valley and northern plains. One can only hope.
